Q: What type of staffing does First Place Staffing do?
A: We do temporary and direct placement for all office
administration support positions. These may include general
clerical, reception, customer service, data entry,
accounts payable / receivable, secretary and
administrative assistant. We also fill controller and
marketing positions. In addition to office support, we
also staff warehouse and food service positions.
Q: Is there a cost to the job applicant to use First Place Staffing's
services?
A: No. There is absolutely no cost to our
associates to find employment through First Place Staffing.
Q: What geographical area does your office cover?
A: We place associates in assignments primarily in
Westchester County but also in New York City and the
Greenwich - Stamford area of Fairfield County.
Q: How does First Place Staffing find the right job for me?
A: Our evaluation process includes assessments of
your work habits, attention to detail and math skills, multi-tasking
abilities and comfort level working in a team environment. Of
course, we also test your software skills for Microsoft Office
programs. We are then able to see what positions would be best for
you based on your past work experience and skill set. If you are
placed in a position that enables you to take advantage of your
strengths, you are more likely to succeed and be happy in your
job.
Q: Do temporary positions ever lead to a permanent
job?
A: Yes, we are very active filling these positions
and many associates have gotten excellent career positions
through our office with "temp to perm".
Q: If I haven't worked in a few years, is it
still possible to get a job through First Place Staffing?
A: Yes. Most likely the initial jobs will be
temporary ones to enable you to gain some recent
experience in the current workplace. If you perform well
on these assignments, you can build on them to get a
permanent position.

Q: Can I get First Place Staffing's rate sheet for temporary
help?
A: There is no rate sheet. Each job order we fill
requires certain skills and experience and may be filled
with associates that have varied work histories and skill
levels. We are very competitive in price, and provide one
of the most rigid screening processes in the industry.
Q: Can I pay our invoice with a credit card?
A: No, unfortunately First Place Staffing does not accept
payment by credit card.
Q: Does First Place Staffing do positional or departmental
out-sourcing?
A: Yes. For clients that do not wish to have
workers on their payroll, we have an excellent payrolling
program which handles all the human resource functions for
a work staff and relieves you of the related employer costs.
Q: What is your testing policy ? How do I know your
candidate is properly evaluated for my company ?
A: All candidates with computer skills are evaluated on our
state-of-the-art programs. We then relate their results directly to
the skill level you required in your job order. ( eg. Basic Excel,
advanced MS Word etc.) Only those that meet your requirements will be
assigned.
Q: Do you have specific Accounting evaluations ?
A: Yes. We can evaluate skills in Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, Bookkeeping, Payroll and General Ledger. We also have a
specific Quickbooks test.
Q: Do you do specific higher level searches ?
A: As part of our goal to be your HR Partner, we will conduct search
and placement for any positions in your company. With our wide network of
recruiting sources, we are able to identify candidates for finance, accounting,
marketing , operations and human resource positions. Remember, you don't pay
us a fee unless / until the candidate actually starts with your company.
